Android setup
Set up Smart Boundaries with confidence.
Your phone may ask for permission to create a VPN connection. Understand why before you approve it.
PRACTICAL STEP
1. Open Smart Boundaries in the app
Find the Smart Boundaries area in UrgeHarbor and read the on-screen explanation. Android permission wording can differ by device brand and version.
PRACTICAL STEP
2. Review the VPN permission
Android allows apps to create a VPN service. UrgeHarbor uses that service for DNS filtering, not as a promise of privacy-VPN protection. Read the system prompt and proceed only if you are comfortable.
PRACTICAL STEP
3. Check for other VPN services
Android normally allows one active VPN for a user or work profile. Another VPN app can conflict with the filtering service. Check Android Settings if you are unsure which VPN is active.
PRACTICAL STEP
4. Confirm behavior, not only labels
Check the actual protection behavior using non-explicit test cases that you are comfortable with. A status message alone is not proof of coverage. If a site you expect to be blocked opens, return to troubleshooting rather than assuming everything is protected.
PRACTICAL STEP
5. Keep your wider plan in place
A blocker is one support tool. Continue using check-ins, alternative activities and human support when helpful.
